200 ml whole milk
500 g flour
200 g d’arbo
30 g yeast
60 g sugar
60 g soft butter
½ tsp salt
1 lemon
1 vanilla pod
Additional butter to finish
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk. Combine the flour, sugar, butter, lemon rind and salt with the yeast milk. Halve the vanilla pod, scrape out the inside and add to the dough.
Place the dough on a floured board and cover with a towel; leave to rise for approx. 10 minutes. Then knead briefly and leave to rise again for a few minutes. Roll out the dough and cut out circles using a glass. Spoon d’arbo Forest Berries Fruit Spread into the middle of the pieces of dough and shape into oval dumplings.
Grease an ovenproof dish generously with butter and arrange the dumplings inside with the seam side down. Brush generously with melted butter. Leave to rise for approx. 5 minutes and brush again with melted butter. Place inside the oven and bake for approx. 45 minutes.
