Stir-Fried Shrimps

Yield:
Serves 4
Ingredients:

2 Tbsp cornstarch

6 Tbsp water

1 Tbsp Lyle’s Golden Syrup

2 Tbsp soy sauce

3 Tbsp ketchup

2 Tbsp sunflower oil

1 garlic clove, minced

1 onion, cut into wedge shaped slices

3 carrots, peeled and julienned

1 yellow pepper, thinly sliced

½ cup snow peas

1 lb raw peeled shrimps

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add the Lyle’s Golden Syrup, soy sauce and ketchup. Mix together and set aside. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet. Stir-fry the garlic, onion, carrots and pepper over a medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Add the snow peas and shrimps and continue cooking for a further 2 minutes, tossing continuously, until the shrimp have turned pink and cooked through. Add the syrup mixture and bring to boil, stirring continuously. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve straight away.
